Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.
Fede Alvarez’s much anticipated remake gave us plenty to hang our horror hat on. We designed and supplied all the prosthetics and make-up FXs, as well as the hero props and set dressing. With help from our friends at FilmFX, we delivered one bloody thirsty and horrific vision.
We spent days on-set doing practical rigs with locked off camera views, contorted stunt people, forced perspective shots and old school suggestive horror. The end resulted in onset crew unable to look at the monitor - a sure sign you're on the right track to get a horror classic going.
