Set in Japan during the 1870s, this movie tells the story of Captain Nathan Algren (Tom Cruise), a respected American military officer hired by the Emperor of Japan to train the country's first Army in the art of modern warfare.
With tight deadlines and a mountain of costume elements to climb, Main Reactor delivered hero and stunt components for over 350 Samurai costumes. We created more than 17,000 pieces ranging from small detailed hero pieces, to 100s of background soldiers.
All items were sculpted, moulded, cast and finished in our workshops. Costume designer Ngila Dickson went on to be nominated for an Academy Award for her stunning design on this film.
